Looking for Biomarkers of Developmental Delays: A Research Study

As part of Hypothesis Haven Science Club's mission to teach children how doctors and scientists discover, treat and prevent illnesses, we are excited to share opportunities for children to take part in clinical research.

 

Purpose

This study aims to help us better understand and more quickly diagnose developmental delays and autism spectrum disorder (ASD).


Who can participate?

  • Children 18-48 months old

  • ASD or developmental delay diagnosis

  • No history of major medical disorders

  • No recent diagnosis of upper respiratory infection or periodontal disease

What will you do in the study?

  • One or two visits with your child at the Texas Children’s Autism Center (8080 N. Stadium Drive)

  • You will complete several questionnaires.

  • Your child will complete some behavioral tasks and provide a saliva sample.

  • You will be compensated for your time and effort.
